CHALLENGING CLOSING DATES

Buying a home while selling a home is challenging.

Time and time again we hear a familiar issue. My home is closing but my new home isn’t ready, what will I do? This is especially true if your new home needs a few upgrades that you would like to get done prior to moving in. This is the perfect time to get some painting, or a simple remodel done before you move in. There are many solutions to this very familiar dilemma.

SHORT-TERM SOLUTION: “Load & Hold”

If it is only a few days between your close and your access to your new home, then a “load and hold” can be the solution. We can fully pack and load your items onto the trucks, so you can close on your home, but rather than unloading them into our storage facility, we move the ENTIRE TRUCK into our warehouse and secure it for a few days. This method allows those few days reprieve so you can have fresh paint, your cleaners come through or anything else you might need, and then we can deliver, unload, unpack and remove the debris so you can settle into your new home with ease.

Longer-TERM SOLUTION: VAULTED Storage

If it is going to be longer; perhaps you would like to remodel, remove walls, perform an addition or any other factors that may take a month or two between homes then the best course of action is our full service storage solution. In this case, rather than moving your items into your short-term rental, and trying to live within the boxes, our full storage solution may be a better option. Our 5 by 7 by 8 containers called vaults, allow your items to be fully protected within our warehouse until you are ready to move into your home. Remember to separate your absolute necessities from the items coming to storage, so we can deliver your must haves to your rental for you on our way back to our warehouse. Since this is full-service storage, our clients do not have immediate access to the items, so this will be critical to keep your needed items with you. If it will be weeks or months between homes, this option is the better choice.

SIMULTANEOUS CLOSING DATES

Now if you have a simultaneous close date, this can be a bit trickier. You must wait for the city to record your purchase (which can take some time) for you to get your keys and access to your new home. Teams can only be kept in house for so long, so if your closing is at 10 am or later, be prepared to stay overnight at a local hotel, and have your items delivered the next day with a load and hold. If it is 10 am or earlier there is a chance that you will record in the same day, and if you will have keys before our 3pm cut off time, we can deliver the same day. No matter your circumstance, our full service, white glove moving approach can find the solution best suited to create a seamless move into your new home.
