Tempe, AZ (February 4, 2016) - Get Your Move On, LLC, a leading local family-owned and operated moving company, has announced a new program in partnership with two notable Valley non-profits to help Arizona families rebuild their lives. Get Your Move On cares about giving back to the community – helping those in need is a significant aspect of their mission statement – and their newest partnership will have a powerful impact. The company has made a commitment to begin offering charity moves to non-profit organizations in 2016; the first two organizations to benefit from this are UMOM and Furnishing Dignity. As the largest homeless shelter for families in the state of Arizona, UMOM provides families in need with anything from emergency and transitional shelter to permanent and affordable housing support to ensure every family has a home. Furnishing Dignity provides families with furniture and basic household goods that they may need.“It’s a natural fit for us to complete the process of getting families back on track with moving assistance,” said Derek Greene, owner and president of Get Your Move On. “With help from a professional moving company and its trained and experienced team, these great organizations will be able to help more deserving families move into their permanent homes sooner.”The Get Your Move On team’s goal for 2016 and on wards is to offer at least two charity moves each month, with the hope of partnering with more organizations in the future. In addition to this recent commitment, the company is an active member of the community across the Phoenix metropolitan area. Get Your Move On also makes an annual donation of more than $10,000 in logistical support to the Autism Speaks Walk Now event, hosted by the world’s leading autism science and advocacy organization.“We are thrilled to have the support of the team at Get Your Move On to help our families make a successful transition into a permanent home,” said Jessica Palacio, director of marketing at UMOM. “The parents and case managers at UMOM work tirelessly together to meet each individual family’s unique needs and seeing them move into their own home and begin to thrive gives us all immense satisfaction; we love seeing the community come together to help.”The next move in collaboration with these three organizations is scheduled for February 2016. A local family who has been through the UMOM program will be supplied with furnishings from Furnishing Dignity. Get Your Move On will help them safely make the transition into their new home.About Get Your Move On Founded in 2005, Get Your Move On is a family-owned and operated company located in Tempe, AZ. They have since helped over 10,000 individuals, families, and businesses with a wide range of moving needs. With the assistance of a growing cadre of volunteers, we accept and redistribute new and or gently used contributed household furnishings to disadvantaged people trying to improve the quality of their lives. Our clients may have been homeless, relocated due to domestic violence, suffer from a disability, or recovering from a natural disaster or other traumatic events. Our goal is to help them to improve the quality of their lives and assist them in becoming self-sufficient. The most requested items are beds for children who have been sleeping on the floor with little more than a blanket, as well as kitchen items to ensure that nutritious meals can be prepared at home.
