Tempe Company “Moved” to Combat Autism
Get Your Move On donates time, resources to “Walk Now for Autism Speaks” to help son
November 3, 2014. Tempe, AZ. As owner of Get Your Move On, LLC, a local moving company, Derek Greene is used to helping others. When his own son was diagnosed with autism in 2009, Greene was moved to help raise funds to combat the disorder which affects 1 in 64 children in Arizona, according to the CDC (Centers for Disease Control).
For the “Walk Now for Autism Speaks,” held October 25th in Tempe, the company donated over $10,000 in logistical support in setting up the event and for bottled water. Attendance was over 20,000. In 2013, Greene was Chairman for the annual walk and raised over 1.8 million in donations, the largest amount ever received in Arizona.
Greene says, “From the bottom of our hearts, we appreciate everything that Walk Now for Autism Speaks and the Southwest Autism Research & Resource Center stand for. They are tremendous resources for children and families dealing with this disorder.”
The walk is part of an initiative by Autism Speaks, the world’s leading autism science and advocacy and a cure for autism, and for raising awareness to the disorder.
Get Your Move On, LLC, is locally-owned, operated and headquartered in Tempe. Greene founded the company in 2005 when he saw a need for professionally run moving companies willing to provide exceptional service and offer a 100% satisfaction guarantee.
The family-owned business has since moved over 10,000 customers throughout the Phoenix Metropolitan area. Using a “Pampered Moving Process” that Greene developed, the company is able to dramatically reduce the wear and tear of both commercial and residential relocations.
The company’s commitment to excellence has led to multiple service awards by popular consumer review sites and organizations. They have received the Angie’s List “Super Service Award” each year since 2008, 5-Star rankings on Yelp and a consistent A+ Rating with the Better Business Bureau.
Customers are giving the company high marks, too. According to Alan Salem, who recently used the service, “We have had several moves in our 48 years of marriage and Get Your Move On was by far the best.”
