Presenting the GYMO TOP TEN List (Part One, that is)

We get asked the same questions over and over – which is not a bad thing. It means our customers are smart and they want the best movers out there. Here, we are going to make it a little easier for you. We are going to not only give you the answers you are always looking for, but we are going to tell you the ins and outs of the moving industry so you are protected no matter who you choose to move your stuff.

Tell your friends! We know what we are talking about (We’ve been doing this a while!).

Yes, we are starting backward, kind of like David Letterman over here.

10. DO YOU CHARGE EXTRA FOR STAIRS?

Huh? People charge extra for stairs? We are ex-athletes – we like the exercise! Ha, we kid. We know at times you get a bill from somewhere and there are a lot of unexpected charges. Here’s what we do not charge for, and these would be good things to ask others what they charge for as well.

We do not charge for stairs, oversize items or long carries (you know that your apartment is 100 yards from the parking lot). We are a time and materials company only. With us, you get a free, in-home estimate so it is accurate. So many variables can affect the timing of a move. Do not trust over-the-phone estimates or even internet estimates. They are not worth the paper they are written on in our humble opinion.

9. DO YOU DO PACKING?

Why, yes, we do. We do pad-wrap each item regardless of whether you pay for the packing materials. Nothing leaves your home unless it is wrapped, there are no exposed areas. Of course, we also have specialized packing services, where we go through, pack your dishes, your kids’ toys, etc. Inquire with a specialist and you can get an estimate on that too.

8. HOW AND WHEN DO I PAY? DO YOU TAKE CREDIT CARDS?

You pay upon completion and your satisfaction of your move. This is very important to us. We figure, you are trusting us with all of your prized belongings, we can trust you to pay at the end of your move.

We take cash, all major credit cards, and checks.

7. DO YOU PROVIDE FREE ESTIMATES?

Yes, our Vice President Roger Greene will personally come to your home and give you a free estimate. This helps us as much as it helps you. It is much easier for us to plan our schedule, order the right equipment and get the right amount of guys on the job. He does a walk-through of your home, and listens to you regarding all of the valuables, antiques, special circumstances or anything that will take a little more work or care. His 35 years in the moving industry gives us the advantage that we will use our time and resources most efficiently.

Oh, did we mention that our guys work a normal day? They move until the job is done, of course, but you will not have guys still moving your items at 11 o’clock. Because we do the in-home estimates, we schedule the right amount of staff so that you are snugly in bed the night of your move into your new home.

6. ARE THERE ANY OTHER CHARGES I SHOULD BE MADE AWARE OF?

We’ll end today’s list with this simple answer: NO.
